Your privacy and security are our highest priority. That's why we're hard at work on an ongoing basis to keep ServiceArizona one of the most secure websites on the Internet. Here are just a few of the things we are doing to protect you:

    • All ServiceArizona transactions convert to a secured mode, using encryption through secured socket layer (SSL), as soon as the customer clicks on the icon from the home page. All personal information is encrypted when sent from or received by the customer’s computer.
    • Professional IBM security specialists have trained IBM's employees on security procedures. These procedures are checked and double-checked by both the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division and IBM's security experts on a regular basis.
    • IBM conducts audits of every security checkpoint several times a year. This includes a rigorous inspection of IBM technology, procedures, training and personnel.

We hope you will take advantage of the convenience ServiceArizona offers with complete confidence in its security. If you have any concerns, please contact IBM at servicearizona@clearlake.ibm.com.

How does EZ Registration Renewal work?

    • The first step is to enter vehicle information and confirm record.
    • If your vehicle is currently de-insured, you will have an option to keep your vehicle de-insured, or remove the de-insured status.
    • The second step allows you to view your current plate style, view available plate styles and make your selection.
    • If the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) does not have your email address on file, you will be given an option to provide your email address. The primary registration recipient may elect to receive the vehicle renewal notifications by email instead of United States mail. “Primary Registration Recipient” is defined as the registered owner who is designated on the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) database to receive the registration for a vehicle. If there is more than one registered owner, it may be difficult for you to determine the primary registration recipient. To ensure the primary registration recipient’s email is captured, please have all the registered owners provide their email address.
    • The third step allows you to view the fee breakdown.
    • The fourth step is to view the fee total and provide credit card information.
    • The last step is an optional survey.

Can I renew my vehicle registration by phone?

Yes, you can renew your vehicle registration by calling the toll free number 1-888-713-3031. Before calling, please have your vehicle registration form and a valid Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit/debit/check card ready to use.

Who can use ServiceArizona to do a registration renewal?

All Arizona drivers are eligible to use ServiceArizona unless:

    • You register your vehicle as an Interstate Vehicle or through the International Registration Plan (IRP).
      - or -
    • Your registration statement says EMISSION TEST REQUIRED and the test has not occurred, or the emissions data has not been updated with the state.

What do I need to have in order to do a registration renewal?
    • The Vehicle Registration Form that you should have received through the mail (this is optional, but will simplify the process of finding your vehicle record).
    • A valid Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit/debit/check card.
    • A web browser that supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.
Where will my registration be mailed?

You are required by law to provide your current mailing address. Your license tabs and renewal receipt will be mailed to your address on record. If your tabs are mailed to the wrong address, they will need to be re-issued, and this may result in a $5 re-issue fee. Please ensure that your address is correct before renewing.

How long will it take to get my vehicle renewal registration in the mail?

Your vehicle renewal registration and tab will be mailed to you within 5 business days.

How long will it take to get my plate in the mail?

Personalized plate orders are reserved pending final approval. If approved, the plate will be mailed to you within 3-4 weeks. Specialty plate orders will be mailed within 5 business days.

How do I ensure my mailing address is correct?

If you have your vehicle registration form and your address information on the form matches your current address, your address is correct.

If you do not have your vehicle registration form, or the address information shown on the form is not correct, you will need to complete a change of address. Click here to change your address.

How do I change my address?

MVD has developed a computer system that links all of your records together. This means that when you change your address on your vehicle registration, it will automatically change the address on each vehicle on which you are listed as the registration recipient and on your driver license.

Registration recipient is defined as the vehicle owner or registrant who is designated on the MVD database to receive the registration for a vehicle.

To change your address, you will need your name, date of birth, and driver license or identification card number. Click here to change your address.

What happens after I complete an emissions test?

The emissions test results are automatically updated within the MVD system. You may keep your Arizona Vehicle Emissions Inspection Certificate for your records.

If I fail my emissions test and my registration expires while the vehicle is being repaired, what do I do?

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) states that to avoid late penalties from the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), all testing and repair must be completed prior to the registration expiration date. However, if your first test was performed in your registration month, you have 30 days from the first test to complete the process. This will not prevent you from receiving a ticket from law enforcement. Click here for more information.

    What is a penalty fee?

A penalty fee is assessed when your renewal registration payment is not received by the expiration date indicated on your vehicle registration form. If payment was due on the last day of the month, and was paid late on or before the last day of the next month (or if due on the 15th, and paid on or before the 15th of the next month) an $8 late fee will be added to your payment total. For each additional month, a fee of $4 is assessed. If you do not receive a renewal notice before the end of the next registration period, you must still renew by the expiration date.

    Permanent Trailer Information

Under state law, commercial trailers with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) greater than 10,000 lbs. are required to be permanently registered. By renewing this one last time, you'll never pay registration fee or vehicle license tax again for this trailer. A "PERM" tab and/or plate will be provided to replace the expiration tabs on your license plate. If you have a special plate on your trailer, you will continue to receive a renewal notice for the special plate fee.

    Special Plate Information

Plates may only be issued for a currently registered vehicle, registered or leased in your name. Special plates may not be issued to commercial vehicles, with a declared Gross Vehicle Weight of 26,001 lbs. or more.

Why are the fees displayed in ServiceArizona EZRenewal different from the amounts printed on my renewal notice?

Renewal notices are printed approximately 45 days prior to the registration due date. If you ordered a personalized/special plate within the last 45 days, then your renewal notice may not show your annual renewal fee for the personalized/special plate: however this fee will be displayed in ServiceArizona and it is due when you renew your registration.

To whom will my motor vehicle record information be released?

The Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act 18 U.S.C. 2721-2725, as well as Title 28, Chapter 2, Article 5 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, specifies that the personal information contained in your vehicle record may not be released to anyone without your consent, except when it is a matter of public health and safety, or when the individual or entity requesting such information is otherwise authorized to obtain it under federal law. However, during the renewal process, you may consent to the release of your driver license and vehicle record information to any individual or entity that makes a proper request. This consent would apply to all owners of this vehicle.
